  1. Purpose of the qualification:

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a student to operate as a Retail Supervisor. A Retail Supervisor supervises, controls and co-ordinates the work performance of a team in a specific area in a wholesale and retail outlet.

A qualified student will be able to:

  1. Supervise retail and wholesale staff
  2. Supervise the implementation and maintenance of retail or wholesale operations
  3. Analyse causes of customer complaints and to resolve them in a manner that promotes customer loyalty.
  1. Modules:

4.1 Knowledge Modules (20 Credits);

  1. Concepts and principles of supervising Wholesale or Retail staff, 10 credits
  2. Concepts and principles of monitoring and improving performance, 4 credits
  3. Concepts and principles for the implementation and maintenance of retail or wholesale operations, 3 credits
  4. Concepts and principles of enhancing customer service, 3 credits

4.2 Practical Skill Modules (20 Credits);

  1. Supervise retail or wholesale staff, 6 credits
  2. Monitor and control the work performance of a team, 6 credits
  3. Supervise operations, 4 credits
  4. Supervise service to internal and external retail and wholesale customers, 2 credits
  5. Resolve queries and complaints from internal and external retail and wholesalecustomers, 2 credits

4.2 Workplace Modules (60 Credits);

  1. Processes and procedures for supervising wholesale or retail staff, 30 credits
  2. Processes and procedures for supervising, implementing and maintaining processes and procedures in a specificarea of responsibility in a wholesale or retail outlet, 20 credits
  3. Processes and procedures for enhancing customer service in a wholesale or retail outlet, 10 credits

  1. Rationale:
